NURA ZUBAIRU is a Community development expert, who has worked with various non-governmental organization and implemented projects in many development areas such as Health, Agriculture, Cash transfer, Nutrition, Water, sanitation and hygiene (WASH) as well as in education. Trained as an Agricultural Economist at Usman Danfodio University Sokoto, he holds a Master’s Degree in Agricultural Economics and Extension from the same institution. He is currently a State Program Officer of a UNFPA funded project ‘’Adolescent Girls Initiative’’ in Sokoto State of Nigeria, responsible for supporting, encouraging and empowering adolescent girls to further their education, thereby reducing the rate of girl’s drop out of schools especially in rural communities. Prior to this he was a Program Assistant with ATM/HMM project by Global Fund (2008), responsible for creating awareness on Aids, Tuberculosis and malaria diseases and trained households on Home Management of Malaria. He served as Program Officer with USAID funded project ‘’ARFH/ESMPIN project in Kebbi State’’ (2011-2013) responsible for sensitization rural communities on the need for child spacing, creating demand and access for contraceptives, served as a Program Officer Cash transfer and later Program Officer Nutrition and WASH with USAID funded project ‘’ Feed the Future and Livelihood Project in Nigeria’’ (2014-2016) Coordinated Cash transfer exercises to 3000 beneficiaries in Kebbi State, trained and guided beneficiaries to established livelihood plans and trained caregivers on best Nutrition and Hygiene practices. Also served as Program Officer Girls for Health Kebbi State, responsible for empowering young girls to read health related courses at tertiary institution, thereby increasing number of female health workers in rural health facilities.
