Fatima Lamishi Adamu (PhD) is a Sociologist, Project Manager and a Women’sRight Activist in Nigeria. She has over 20 years’ experience advocating for women’s right to access and control over economic resources, quality health care and education in Northern Nigeria. She servedas a National Programme Manager of Women for Health (2012-2020), a UKaid funded programme in Nigeria that is managed by DAI Global Health. The programme implemented in Borno and Yobe state supported women from IDPs camps to enroll into Nursing and Midwifery training where 380 benefitted. She served as the Convener of SURE-P MNCH (2013-2015), a Federal Government Initiative aimed at reducing maternal mortality using savings from oil subsidy fund.  Her entire work history in research, teaching/training, publication, and activism has centred around women’s rights to access quality services. As the Executive Director of Nana Girls and Women’s Empowerment Initiative, Dr Adamu has created a network of Community Based Organisations to reach hard to reach areas. Fatima is notable in her engagements with Executive and Legislative arms of governments in Northern Nigeria. Her expertise include Gender and Equity Analysis, Community Engagement, Power analysis and accountability, and African Feminist research and analysis
